Documenting anti-trans federal action

Know of a public record the TJA should FOIA? We're requesting documents that detail the effects of anti-trans federal action.

The Trans Journalist Association and MuckRock are partnering to help uncover, preserve, and report on the Trump administration’s actions targeting trans communities.

This open-source project will collect newsworthy documents and data that reveal the real-world effects of executive orders, legislation and other directives. We’ll do this in a variety of ways, from identifying and retaining information removed from public federal records to filing FOIA requests.

We’re interested in information from all levels of government — national, state and local — as long as it's related to some sort of federal action. Relevant documents range from text conversations to agency reports in response to executive orders.

Is there something we should be requesting, either now and in the future? Let us know with this form.

If you're a journalist interested in volunteering to support the project, please reach out at contact@transjournalists.org.
